New Breastfeeding Helpline Launched
Tue, Mar 24 2009

The Australian Breastfeeding Association launched its new freecall breastfeeding helpline in March. The breastfeeding helpline is open to all, from mums and dads to nurses and other health professionals.

The breastfeeding helpline is answered 24 hours by trained, volunteer breastfeeding counsellors who are also mothers. The volunteer counsellors have calls automatically diverted to their homes on a roster system. Emergency calls only are appreciated between 11pm and 7am.

The Breastfeeding Helpline number is
1800 mum 2 mum (1800 686 2 686)

If you are using VOiP please phone 1800 68 62 68.

The breastfeeding helpline is possible through funding from the Australian Government under the Support Breastfeeding Mums initiative.
