The purpose of this module is designed to help you gain an understanding of gastro-oesophageal reflux and how it can be managed in the breastfed infant.

Key content areas:

• General management of an unsettled baby;
• The range of symptoms seen in babies with GOR;
• How frequently GOR may occur; The ages at which infants have most and least symptoms;
• General management of a baby with GOR;
• Breastfeeding management of a baby with GOR;
• The association with cow's milk or other food allergy in some cases of GOR;
• The use of feed thickeners in the management of GOR;
• The marketing and use of a commercial infant formula for infants suffering from GOR.

To be eligible for IBLCE CERPs the completed assessment must be returned to the Lactation Resource Centre by 30 September 2012
